How to record a clean phone screencast for your website
iOS and Android screen recording tips that survive video compression and look great inside a phone mockup.
The best 3D phone mockups use video inside the screen, not stills. But raw screen recordings often look noisy. A few tricks fix that.
iOS
- Enable Recording in Control Center, long-press the icon, turn the microphone off.
- Hide notifications and the time first — Settings → Focus → Custom.
- Record at 60fps. Trim in Photos, then export as ProRes if possible.
Android
- Use the system recorder (Settings → Advanced features → Screenshots and screen recorder).
- Set video size to 1080p and bitrate to High.
- Turn on Show taps for tutorials.
For mockups specifically
